Electric blackouts not anticipated this Summer

June 22, 2002 By admin

Rolling electrical blackouts were a worry as summer began last year. Iowa never saw such blackouts and shouldn’t see any this year either, according to Alliant Energy spokeswoman Dee Brown. Brown says they don’t anticipate any significant problems. Brown says Iowa’s dependence on outside power sources is the reason black outs are even considered here.Brown says it doesn’t look like supply will be a problem like it was for some states last summer.
