A typo somewhere is causing a little confusion about jet-skis. Many news outlets are running stories about all of the new state laws that’re taking effect today, but somebody made a mistake on one of them. There are several published reports across Iowa that say new restrictions are now in place on personal watercraft, or P-W-Cs. The stories all say jet skis can only be used now during daylight hours, a new minimum age of 12 is required to drive a P-W-C, and kids between 12 and 17 have to pass a watercraft safety course and carry the certificate with them. D-N-R spokesman Mick Klemmesrud says that law was passed by legislators, but it takes effect January first of next year, not July first.
