The former executive director of a Davenport convention and theater complex is in -more- trouble with the law.41-year-old Michael Hartman of Davenport faces a second-degree theft charge for allegedly kiting personal checks totaling nearly six thousand dollars between two banks. The charge is unrelated to an investigation police are conducting regarding the books at the city-owned RiverCenter/Adler Theatre. Hartman resigned from his job there in May. That was amid allegations that $14,000 in inappropriate expenses had been charged against the facility. Hartman, who is free under the pre-trial release program, worked for Compass Facility Management of Ames. The company manages the RiverCenter/Adler for the city.
