An unusual estate sale in eastern Iowa is drawing art lovers and bargain hunters. Curious collectors lined up Thursday at an old house in east Davenport. They were anxious for some memorabilia from the late Davenport artists John and Isabelle Bloom. John Bloom died in May. His wife died one year earlier. Both were in their 90s. Their former home is open through Saturday for an estate sale. Some people waited as long as an hour to walk through the crowded place and leave with one or more of the pre-priced items. Most visitors were anxious for pieces of art. Isabelle Bloom was most known for the concrete sculptures produced under her trademarked name. John Bloom was a painter. Some people, though, bought linens and housewares. Even crayon drawings by the Blooms’ children were sold.
