Dog kills Ottumwa toddler

August 27, 2002 By admin

A vicious dog killed a toddler in Ottumwa this morning. A two-year-old girl died this morning after being attacked by a pit bull. The incident occurred shortly before 7:30. A neighbor and friend of the family says the girl wandered outside her home while her father was getting two other children ready for school. The girl’s mother was at work. The name of the victim or her parents’ names have not been released. Ottumwa police say the girl was dead at the scene. The dog was removed, but cops won’t say whether the dog belonged to the girl’s family or if it was on a leash.
