Boswell: All Iowa delegation should support Medicare reform

September 5, 2002 By admin

Congressman Leonard Boswell, a democrat, is calling on his colleagues fromIowa in the House to support the Medicare reimbursement bill co-sponsored by Iowa’s two U-S Senators. He says supporting one plan to get more Medicare dollars coming to Iowa is important. Boswell says other states may not want to give up their support of the “Fairness Act” which is another Medicare bill. Boswell says the Grassley-Harkin bill does not go as far as the “Fairness Act,” but he says it’s a big step toward making reimbursement fair for Iowa. Boswell says he’s not worried about getting the Iowa delegation together on the issue. Iowa hospitals and health providers are paid the lowest rates of Medicare reimbursement in the country.
