Davenport man’s trial rescheduled

September 20, 2002 By admin

A Davenport man accused of killing another man in an dispute over money will have to wait a little longer for the verdict in his murder trial. 26-year-old Shon Graves is on trial in Scott County, charged with first-degree murder. Police say Graves killed 22-year-old Darrell Williams on August 14th, 2001, in Davenport. But the judge declared a mistrial yesterday when a witness on the stand said that Graves has a prison record. The judge says Graves’ past criminal history should not have come out unless he took the stand in his own defense. A new trial is set for September 30th.
