A recall of tainted beef is being expanded after people in three states that border Iowa got sick. The U-S-D-A says ground beef from Wisconsin-based meatpacker Emmpack Foods is linked to e-coli bacteria illnesses in about 40 people in Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota. There was a recall late last month in those three states, but it was expanded nationwide late Wednesday. Emmpack does business as Peck Meats and the beef in question was sold in grocery stores, hotels, restaurants and through other outlets nationwide.
