Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley had his turn at the microphone today as the U-S Senate debates a resolution authorizing military action against Iraq. Grassley said the U-S and its allies have spent the last decade patrolling no-fly zones and being fired upon by Iraq.He says some of them have been Iowans, since the Iowa Air National Guard has completed five 90-day missions in recent years and will likely be needed for a sixth before long. Grassley voted “no” the last time the U-S proposed to invade Iraq in 1991, but announced recently that he’ll give a thumbs-up this time around.
