Two suspects are in custody after a young woman was shot and killed last night in the northwest Iowa town of Sheldon.Sheldon police got a call about 7:30 Tuesday night that there’d been a shooting in an apartment in the town of five thousand. A 17-year-old girl was found, shot in the face. Shelley Gonnerman was pronounced dead a half-hour later in the Sheldon hospital. The suspects are: 24-year-old Lathan Matrell Barnett, of Sheldon, charged with involuntary manslaughter, unauthorized possession of an offensive weapon and felon in possession of a firearm; and 22-year-old Shane William Meyer of Sheldon, charged with unauthorized possession of an offensive weapon and felon in possession of a firearm. Details on what led to the shooting are still unclear.
