Monticello cat vies for prize with tricks

November 5, 2002 By admin

A Monticello couple will be in the Big Apple, with their pet. Brent Wiethorn reports they’re in the finals of the Arm & Hammer “Coolest Cat Trick Contest.”Matt and Julie Lux and their four-year-old striped cat Tommy will be vying for a top prize of ten-thousand dollars. The cat’s trick is: when hungry, he “prays” for his food, by moving his front paws up and down. Voting was in October for the top ten felines in the U.S., and the top three finalists won an all-expense paid trip to NYC for the final contest tomorrow (Wednesday).
