UNI hosts business ethics conference

November 11, 2002 By admin

Ethics in business will be the focus of a conference at the University of Northern Iowa today. U-N-I professor Donna Wood says the conference entitled — “Beyond Enron: A Crisis of Capitalism” — will address what many perceive as an epidemic of shady business practices in corporate America.Wood says U-N-I has strong programs in professional accounting and finance and the school has an obligation to make a statement in light of corporate scandals on behalf of students and graduates. Wood says a large range of issues will be dealt with.Among the speakers is Iowa Senator Charles Grassley, who in the wake of last Tuesday’s election will regain his position as chair of the Senate Finance Committee.
