You can give mouth-to-mouth resusitation as a Christmas gift

December 12, 2002 By admin

Need a holiday gift for that person who has everything? Consider giving them an education in a skill that could save lives. Red Cross chapters across Iowa are offering gift certificates that can be redeemed for a variety of courses, according to Kathy Strottmann at the Central Iowa chapter. Classes include: adult C-P-R, infant and child C-P-R, first aid, babysitter training for kids between 11 and 15 years old, and H-I-V/AIDS training. Strottman says the gift certificates can also be used to buy things like first aid kits or breathing barriers for giving mouth-to-mouth. Strottman says it’s an unusual and thoughtful present that are printed up on red and green paper. For more information, call your nearest Iowa chapter of the American Red Cross.
