Dundee man dies after apparent hunting accident

Authorities have released the name of a Delaware County man who died in a weekend hunting accident.64-year-old John Downs of Dundee apparently shot himself while hunting near that town on Friday night. Authorities say it appears he slipped and fell while crossing a log and his firearm discharged as he fell, hitting him in the upper body. Downs was discovered by friends who went looking for him after he became overdue. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is under investigation.
