Treasurers seeking to keep fees from on-line filings

County Treasurers are asking legislators to ensure counties get the filing fees when folks file certain forms on-line. There’ a dollar-50 filing fee Iowans pay for getting forms from the site, but it’s not guaranteed now that the fee money goes back to the individual county treasurers offices. Seventy-two of Iowa’s 99 counties have collaborated on a website that features applications and forms used to conduct business with government. Poweshiek County Treasurer Lana Taylor, the vice president of the Iowa State County Treasurers Association, says there are 40 different forms and applications on the site.Taylor there’s a lot of information related to your car and their goal is to let people renew their vehicle registration on-line. The County Treasurers’ website address is “www.iowatreasurers.org”.
