Iowa Senator Tom Harkin, a democrat, says the president’s plan to dramatically alter Medicare does nothing to help Iowa.He says the program still leaves Iowa dead last when it comes to Medicare reimbursement. Harkin says the plan should provide uniform payment. He says everyone should be treated the same under Medicare, and there shouldn’t be distinctions based on where you live. Harkin says he’s hopeful the pressure will build up on Congress so that something is done.
