It may be several days before dozens of college baseball and softball diamonds are playable after a heavy snow blanketed much of the state. Some of the heaviest was in northwest Iowa and Buena Vista baseball coach Steve Eddie says it may be several days before their field is ready. Buena Vista could not open the Iowa Conference race this weekend against Wartburg and Wednesday’s doubleheader against Coe is in doubt. Eddie says not being able to make up games could have a major impact on the outcome. Eddie says a lengthy layoff is the last thing any baseball team needs.
