Airfare war provides cheap tickets to Europe

April 16, 2003 By admin

Another war broke out last night but this one isn’t likely to bring any protesters. Northwest Airlines started an airfare war by dropping prices on many domestic flights and some to Asia and Europe. Des Moines travel agent Sharon Brown says other major carriers have matched fares to many cities Like L.A, Orlando, New York. Brown says some prices to some West Coast destinations like L.A., Seattle and San Francisco are being cut in half. With the war in Iraq cooling off, Brown hopes it heats up Iowans’ desires to fly again. Brown says she hopes Iowans take advantage of the cheap fares, saying -quote- “it’s part of the freedom of choice we have to travel wherever we want to go, to explore our country.”
