The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is investigating a weekend fish kill discovered in a trout stream in northeastern Iowa’s Delaware County. About 50 trout were found in Fountain Springs Park near Greeley on Friday. The fish appeared to have been dead a few days. Manure was also found in the stream. Officials say heavy rain may have washed the manure into the stream, killing the fish, but the investigation is still underway.
