Three Iowa schools will take part in the NCAA division three softball regionals later this week. Iowa Conference champ Central will travel to Tacoma, Washington to play in a regional hosted by Pacific Lutheran will league runner-up Wartburg hosts a regional in Waverly. One of the teams missing out is Simpson College. The Storm were second-ranked nationally for much of the season but stumbled the last week and a half and missed out despite a 31-4 record.Central coach George Wares says they are scrambling to put together travel plans for the regional. He says it’s finals week and they have to handle the academics to be able to leave on Wednesday. Wares says it will be a tough regional, but it’s a place they haven’t been to, so he says it will be fun.Clarke College will also play in the regional in Waverly. It marks the first time Clarke has advanced to the regionals.
