Clarke softball team prepares for first tourney

May 7, 2003 By admin

The Clarke College softball team will make it’s first ever trip to the division three softball tournament when the Crusaders play in a regional hosted by Wartburg. Clarke advanced after winning the Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference title. Clarke coach Cara Clark says that was their number one goal this season. She says the accomplishment has added meaning because she is a former standout at the school. Clark says the Crusaders expect to be competitive, despite being a newcomer at post season play.
