Fire at pet spa creates some hot dogs

May 26, 2003 By admin

Dogs got a little too hot at a “pet spa” in central Iowa this weekend. Twenty-one dogs were trapped inside a burning kennell in the Des Moines suburb of Clive last night. Fire fighters were able to rescue all but one of the dogs. That dog ran away from the scene and was found today. The business is called the Paw Spa and it offers pet grooming and overnight accomodations. Witnesses say the fire started in wooden pallets stacked outside the business. When fire crews arrived at the scene, flames were shooting through the roof.
