Winnebago Industries plans to expand its cabinet-making factory in Charles City to meet the growing demand for solid residential-style cabinets in the company’s motor home line. Winnebago President and CEO Bruce Hertzke says the expansion will bring around 50 more jobs to Winnebago’s Charles City campus, bringing the total number of jobs in Charles City to over 450. Hertzke says the project will cost around $4 million with the plant opening scheduled for the end of the year.Hertzke says people are wanting solid wood residential-style cabinetry in their motor homes. Winnebago Industries just opened a $14-and-a-half (M) million, 217-thousand square foot motor home production facility in Charles City in May.
