During his prep career in the UNI-Dome Terrance Freeney broke the Iowa all-time rushing record, he returns looking to bolster Northern Iowa’s ground attack. The former Cedar Falls standout transferred to U-N-I after two years in the junior college ranks at North Dakota State School Science. Panther coach Mark Farley is glad to have him, as he says he believes Freeney is “the real deal.” Farley says from what he’s seen, Freeney is carrying the weight of the recognition that he brings.Freeney is confident he can help the Panthers this season. He says when the coach calls on him, he wants to be the guy to be called on. He says when everything is on the line and it’s fourth and goal, he’ll says “Give me the rock.” Despite coming back to Cedar Falls Freeney does not feel added pressure. He says he just plays the game and he loves the game and he competes and doesn’t feel the pressure.U-N-I opens August 30th at Iowa State.
