Central football coach Rich Kacmarynski expects the Kuyper Stadium field to be ready for their October 4th game against Simpson. The field was deemed unplayable this week after Saturday’s season opener against Augustana was played in a steady rain. This weekend’s Iowa Conference opener against Buena Vista has been moved to Southeast Polk High School’s field. He says it gives the field time to dry out and let the grass grow out a little bit.Kacmarynski says they don’t see resodding as an option at this point, as it wouldn’t have time to grow down and get grounded. Central won Saturday’s game 3-0 but Kacmarynski says because of the conditions he sill has a lot of questions about his team. He says they found out they could play a power game in a muddy situation. He says they weren’t able to see if they can play a speed game.
