UNI meets Minnesota in volleyball border war

September 17, 2003 By admin

A pair of top-25 volleyball teams collide this evening as Northern Iowa takes on Minnesota. The Panthers are sixth rated nationally while the Gophers are 22nd. U-N-I coach Bobbi Peterson says the Gophers are a potential final four team based on the players they have back. Peterson expects emotions to run high on both sides as it’s a “border war” in which they have a lot of kids who could’ve gone to either school. Tonight’s match will be played in Rochester.
