ISU defender says they’re still in good spirits

October 16, 2003 By admin

Iowa State’s homecoming pep rally was last night but sophomore defensive lineman Nick Leaders says the Cyclones already have plenty of motivation for Saturday’s game against 20th-ranked Texas. Iowa State is 2-4 and will be looking to snap a four-game losing skid. He says they’re in good spirits, and says despite the losses, “at times we show greatness.” With Jordan Carstens battling an injury, Leaders has assumed more of a leadership role with the inexperienced players on defense. And he says the younger players are making strides through a difficult schedule.
