Iowa State’s homecoming pep rally was last night but sophomore defensive lineman Nick Leaders says the Cyclones already have plenty of motivation for Saturday’s game against 20th-ranked Texas. He says they’re in good spirits, and says despite the losses, “at times we show greatness.” With Jordan Carstens battling an injury, Leaders has assumed more of a leadership role with the inexperienced players on defense. And he says the younger players are making strides through a difficult schedule.
