UNI tries to bounce back from rare volleyball loss

October 24, 2003 By admin

The 13th-ranked U-N-I volleyball team will host a pair of Missouri Valley Conference foes this weekend beginning with tonight’s match with Southern Illinois. The Panthers are trying to bounce back from a rare conference loss at Southwest Missouri State. U-N-I is second in the conference standings but coach Bobbi Peterson says there is plenty of season remaining and she says many of those are on the road against some tough teams. Southwest Missouri State leads the Valley race with a 9-0 record, but she says there’s a lot of teams in the conference that can step up and do something as well. The Panthers have won 66 straight home matches going into the weekend.
