Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards promises to crack down on corporate influence in Washington if he’s elected. Edwards says he is the only presidential candidate, Democrat or Republican, who has never taken money from federal lobbyists or Political Action Committees. Republican party officials charge Edwards, who is an attorney, has accepted thousands of dollars from peers in the “trial lawyer industry.” Edwards has been campaigning in Iowa this week.
