Webster County to elect new Sheriff as old Sheriff goes on trial

December 9, 2003 By admin

As the former sheriff goes on trial, Webster County voters are going to the polls today to elect a new sheriff. Voters are choosing between two deputies, James Stubbs and Brian Mickelson. Former Sheriff Chuck Griggs resigned in September. He’s accused of spending more than ten-thousand dollars in county money on items for himself — everything from steaks and a George Foreman grill to a new stereo. Jury selection is underway today in Fort Dodge.
