The manager of democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean’s Iowa campaign has fired two staffers in Creston after the staffers were accused of “dirty tricks.” The manager of Massachusetts Senator John Kerry’s campaign says this past Tuesday, a young man came into their Creston campaign office and said he was working at a local farm, then proceeded to ask all sorts of campaign-related questions, like what territory the Kerry staff in the Creston office covered and what their duties were. The next day — Wednesday — a young man who said his name was Mark Evans walked into the Kerry office in Creston and the Kerry staff says he asked lots of questions and “snooped around.” On Thursday, that second man went back into the Kerry office and admitted he lied. He said he’d moved from Georgia to Creston to work for Dean. Dean’s Iowa campaign manager fired the two young men last night after the Kerry camp complained.
