Grassley clarifies comments on Osama

February 10, 2004 By admin

Though he wouldn’t say much due to “national security” reasons, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley reiterated his statement that the man labeled as the mastermind behind the 9-11 attacks will likely be caught within the next few months and before the November election. With former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein already captured by U.S. forces, Grassley says Osama bin Laden’s days are numbered.Grassley says the C-I-A had put so much effort into getting Saddam, that a lot of that effort can now be put into finding bin Laden. He says the U.S. is getting much greater cooperation now from nomadic tribal leaders in southwestern Pakistan and in Afghanistan, two areas where bin Laden may still be holed up.
