UNI takes state’s NCAA Tourney hopes with them today

March 19, 2004 By admin

The UNI Panthers open the NCAA Tournament this afternoon in Milwaukee against Georgia Tech. The Panthers are 21-9 after winning the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. The Yellow Jackets are 23-9 and tied for third in the ACC. Panther center David Gruber says they’re a talented club that’s won a lot of games, but he say his team is the underdog, and all the pressure is on them. Gruber says they’ll play with a lot of heart and passion and energy like they always do.
