A Storm Lake woman faces child endangerment charges after police were dispatched early this (Wednesday) morning to investigate a report of banging noises and children crying. They found three children, ages, 5, three, and one year old, locked in a bedroom with no adult in the apartment. A gallon of milk and crackers were left in the bedroom for the children. Police say the noise neighbors reported was caused by one of the children trying to carve a hole in the door with a screwdriver. 24-year-old Herlanda Uribe, found at work, is charged with three counts of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor. Police say the children appear to have been living in filthy conditions and were locked in the bedroom because their mother didn’t want them wandering around the apartment while she was at work.
