An unusual accident with anhydrous ammonia is blamed for the death of several animals on a Bremer County farm this weekend. Deputies were called to the David Kerr farm in Tripoli around 12-30 Sunday afternoon. They discovered that 63 head of beef cattle and one hog were killed in the accident. They says it appears the anhydrous leaked from a disc that was hooked up to tank. The loss of the animals is estimated at more than 63-thousand dollars.
