Black Hawks start Eastern Conference Finals

April 16, 2004 By admin

The Waterloo Black Hawks will begin the U.S. Hockey League Eastern Conference Finals at Danville tonight. The Hawks are coming off a hard fought five-game series victory over Chicago in the first round of the playoffs. This is the second consecutive year that the Black Hawks have reached the semifinals of the USHL Clark Cup playoffs. Waterloo Coach P.K. O’Handley feels it helps having experience being this far in the playoffs before. The first two games of the best of five series will take place at Danville. O’Handley says the Blackhawks want more than a split. He says they want to win two, and says they have to do it one at a time.
