An Iowa Supreme Court Justice from the western Iowa town of Harlan is recuperating after a recent heart attack. Justice Jerry Larson is recovering from bypass surgery. Larson became ill last Wednesday and underwent bypass surgery last Friday. Family members say Larson is out of intensive care and is recovering at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha. Larson has served on the bench since 1978, when then-Governor Robert Ray appointed him. Larson, who is 68-years-old, is the longest-serving justice on the court.
