An elderly man is hospitalized in intensive care following a fiery car versus tractor accident in northwest Iowa. A car driven by 76-year-old Ceil Creswell of Boyden collided with a tractor driven by 19-year-old Matt Vanderwaal of Eberson, Washington. Troopers say Vanderwaal was exiting a farm field and his trailer was filled with hay bales. Creswell’s car struck the trailer starting a fire. He had to be pulled from his burning vehicle. Creswell was taken by ambulance to the Mercy Hospital intensive care unit in Sioux City. The trailer and Creswell’s car were destroyed in the blaze. The accident happened around 5:40 Wednesday evening just southeast of Boyden.
