A convicted sex offender was arrested Monday after authorities found him hiding out in Fayette County. 49-year-old Richard Lee Thibadeau of Manchester was wanted for a probation warrant put out by the Department of Corrections. Thibadeau was on probation for a conviction of lascivious acts with a child an he was also registered on the state sexual offender registry for Delaware County. Deputies received information that he was hiding out at a rural residence just north of Clermont. When deputies arrived, Thibadeau tried to escape, but was quickly taken into custody without incident and transported to the Fayette County jail. After an investigation, Thibadeau was found to be in violation of the state registry and was also charged with failure to comply with the sex offender registry. Thibadeau remains in the Fayette County jail on a 15-thousand dollar bond.
