The investigation continues into a fatal crash south of Des Moines this week.A 19-year-old man who worked at a car dealership on Indianola’s north side was coming into town on highway 65-69 a little after 3 Tuesday afternoon when he went to make a left turn into the lot, across the northbound lanes of the busy highway. He turned into the path of a northbound sportscar that hit his Jeep Cherokee with such force, it was torn in half. Jeffrey Alan Sampson was thrown from the Cherokee and died. The driver and passenger in the other car were both airlifted to Des Moines. Indianola police Sergeant Keith Moore says a lot of people go pretty fast where that main roadway is turning into a rural highway and it’s quite possible speed was a factor in the crash. It’ll be next week before any charges are filed.
