Former state trooper pleads not guilty to sex abuse charge

May 12, 2005 By admin

A former state trooper accused of sexually abusing a young girl at his parent’s Denison apartment more than a decade ago has pleaded not-guilty to the charge. 39-year-old Karl Kluender of Huxley has been charged with second-degree sexual abuse, in connection with the alleged incident involving his 7-year-old niece back in 1993. Kluender was scheduled to be arraigned in Crawford County District Court this past Monday, but his lawyer this week submitted a written “not guilty” on behalf of his client. Now the case is tentatively set to go to trial on July 26.
