The administrator of the State Racing and Gaming Commission says it’ll be several months before the new gambling licenses approved Wednesday turn into new opportunities to drop coins in slot machines. Jack Ketterer says the casinos each have unique circumstances. He says most of them are in a 12 to 18 month time frame. He says the Washington County may take a little longer because it also has a golf course. Ketterer says the casino have one thing in their favor. He says they’re all heading into the summer construction season and that may allow them to get things done a little sooner. The new casinos have to meet certain requirements set out for the construction and completion of their facilities or could face the loss of their license.
