Briar Cliff opens play in super regional

May 19, 2005 By admin

The Briar Cliff baseball team looks to take another step toward the NAIA World Series this afternoon at home with the start of a super regional against Dakota State. The teams will play a best-of-three series with the winner advancing to the world series. Briar Cliff coach Boyd Pitkin says they go about it just like any tournament, and will go 1-2-3 with their pitchers and make adjustments if they have to. Pitkin is glad to have this series at home where the Chargers are 14-4 this season. He says they spent six days in Mitchell because of the weather. Game two is at noon on Friday with a third and deciding game, if needed, following that.
