Tipton and Williamsburg girls win relay titles

May 20, 2005 By admin

Tipton won the girls class 2A 4×800 relay championship. Keri Larson anchored the relay and says it was special to be one of the seniors to run and win. She says it’s a good starting point and will hopefully build everyone’s confidence.Tipton won the overall state championship last season and Larson hopes this is the first step to another title. Larson says it was so much fun and they would love to repeat it again. Williamsburg is in the same Eastern Iowa Hawkeye Conference as Tipton and took home the Class 3A 4×800 relay — it’s ninth straight. Coach Nick Nordheim says he’s never seen anything like it, as he says the girls have guts and heart and are amazing to watch.
