The Shelby County Sheriff’s office has arrested two Omaha men accused of stealing a farm fertilizer chemical often used to make illegal drugs. Early this morning a sheriff’s deputy reported seeing two men stealing anhydrous ammonia from a plant in Panama. The deputy stopped their car as the men tried to flee, searched their car, and found a methamphetamine lab including anhydrous and other “precursor” chemicals used to make the illegal drug. 41-year-old Kerry Carlson and 43-year-old Jeffrey Bovvee, both of Omaha, were arrested for manufacturing a controlled substance, possession and transportation of anhydrous ammonia, and possession of precursors. Both aer jailed in Shelby County on 130-thousand dollars bond.
