Wartburg opens the division-three College World Series Friday afternoon in Appleton, Wisconsin against Chapman of California.The Knights are on a roll, they’ve reeled off eight straight wins. Senior pitcher Charlie Colvin likes their chances, as he says they should be the team that scares other teams when they get off the bus. He says they have the talent in pitching, hitting and coaching, and know what it takes to win. Junior catcher Brian Griener believes Wartburg’s talented pitching staff should make them contenders for the National championship. He says the pitching can keep them in any game as they’ve proven against other teams all year.Knight’s coach Joel Holst says his team is one of the top eight right now and with a few good bounces of the ball, anything can happen. The 15th ranked Knights bring a 35-9 record into Friday’s game.
