Riverside annexes land for casino

June 11, 2005 By admin

Plans for the new casino near Riverside moved forward with the city annexing the area that’ll include the facility. General manager Joe Massa says the annexation was something casino operators supported, and says it’ll be good for the city. He says the city can pass a law to allow them to charge a board fee, and it puts them in the city’s tax base. Massa says work is underway at the site. He says things never go as well as you’d like, but he says they’re moving along and they hope to have a groundbreaking in July. The casino also includes a golf course. Massa says the casino should be ready to open in late fall of 2007.
