The Iowa State football team hopes to ride the momentum of a strong second half of the 2004 season into this fall. The Cyclones won five of their last six games to finish 7-5 last season and senior defensive lineman Nick Leaders says the Cyclones have added confidence as they get set for the new season.He says they had a lot of experiences, good and bad with their slow start last year. He says they have a lot of good experiences to build on and know some of the stuff they had to avoid.The defense made major strides last year and Leaders is hoping that continues. Leaders says they need to continue getting turnovers and scoring points on defense. He says staying consistent throughout the season is the most important thing.Iowa State opens at home against Illinois State on September third.
