Emmetsburg man drowns

A man’s drowned in northwest Iowa. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is investigating the drowning of an Emmetsburg man. The DNR’s Kevin Bascom says 21-year-old Ryan Sidles drowned late Sunday afternoon in Five Island Lake. Sidles was swimming out a buoy in the South Bay area when he went down in about twelve feet of water. Sidles was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he later died.
