Streaker in ski mask dashes into Spencer Subway, leads police on chase

August 4, 2005 By admin

A man wearing only a ski mask dashed into and out of a sandwich shop last night (Wednesday) in northwest Iowa. Spencer police were called to the Subway after 55-year-old Mathias Kout came into the business wearing little more than a smile. Before police arrived, Kout had left in a red pickup. Authorities gave chase, during which Kout hit a light pole and hit a parked van, pushing it into a garage door. The chase led police out of Spencer and Kout eventually rolled the pickup on a county road. He’s been hospitalized in Spencer for various injuries and police say he faces a host of charges once he’s released.
